About us

The Duck Cottage is an old, over 100-years' old summer house made of logs, trasported to Krakow from a 80 km distant village Skawa close to Rabka. Its name derives from the current location on a slope over the fish pond full of noisy ducks, swans and other water birds. The cottage is located between the centre of Cracow ( 8 km ) and the airport in Balice ( 2 km ) and makes a perfect site for an exploration of Cracow and its surroundings, for a weekend or a longer business stay or for a holiday. This historical building is in a surprising conformity with the modern zoning conditions of the area, and proves how perfectly the solutions of the 21st century suit an old construction with a spirit. We offer a detached, two-storey house of 150m2, for up to 8 + 1 persons, area is fenced with car park for 2 cars.

SUMMER

Summer It's a wonderful time to admire the wild ducks, swans and other birds floating on the ponds, as well as enjoying the aroma of herbs, especially thyme growing on the slope next to the cottage. It can be perfectly used as a spice for a barbecue. The guests can freely use a big coal barbecue grill on the terrace.

WINTER

Winter guarantees a lot of wonderful scenic impressions, thanks to the proximity of the Rudawa river, and on cold days the forest, canes and plants in the garden are covered with a fairytale - like hard rime - it's very much worth seeing. Later, after a walk in the cold weather, the guests can enjoy the fire in the fireplace.

GROUND FLOOR

. Ground floor floor has about 75 m2 surface and includes:
- kitchen furnished with: fridge, ceramic plate, dishwasher, electric boiler, coffee machine, set of pots and dishes
- dining room with a fireplace and a table for 8 people . living room: TV, DVD, CD . double bedroom: double bed 160 cm
- 1 single bed 100 cm
- bathroom with a shower

FIRST FLOOR

The first floor is an attic of the cottage with well preserved old construction, in which there are located:
- double bedroom: double bed 160 cm.
- twin bedroom: 2 x single bed.
- living room - a passage-room: TV, DVD, CD, sofa bed - can be used as a double bedroom.
- bathroom with a shower.

SPA

After a whole day, on the terrace there is a spa bath with a warm, slightly salty water waiting for you. The baths with hydromassage helps greatly not only our muscles, but our whole health, because the hot water dilates the blood vessels, causing the circulation improvement, and giving relief to our tired muscles. Each such a moment of rest in the spa bath is a great relax and a pleasure, and the hydromassage bath will never harm, and will always help and give us energy.

PLANS

Cycling tour

In the area there are practically perfect conditions for riding a bicycle. Thanks to the variety of the relief, you may choose between the relaxing routes or the extreme ones. On the south, following the banks of Rudawa river, we can easily reach Vistula river, and along it, we can proceed along the impressive scenery of the boulevards to the Royal Castle on the Wawel Hill, and to the centre of Cracow. On the north, we have the numerous valleys surrounding Cracow, and on the area of the nearby Cracow-Czestochowa Jurassic Upland there are lots of marked bicycle routes requiring different extent of effort.

Cracow

Cracow the city of the Polish kings, invites you to a historical stroll in its wonderful museums, especially in the newly open museum under the surface of the Main Square. A unique attraction for the visitors is the Royal Castle on Wawel, in which you can admire beautiful chambers and rare exposition pieces. The old city with its charming mansions makes a perfect site for walking - not only during the day, but also after dusk. The cafes, pubs and restaurants tempt the tourists with a unique atmosphere, regional dishes and original interiors. People looking for an inspiration will find it in the magical corners of Kazimierz district. Cracow offers a lot of impressions to the film, theatre, music and art lovers.
